Art makes life more fun. Not only while making it you are involved in color, shape, expression, but also in the rest of your daily life you’ll enjoy your surroundings more. Groeten van Marc (Greetings from Marc) wants to help you use your inspiration to create a very personal artwork, to see your painting, drawing or other creative expression in a different light, and we want to give you the confidence to go on an adventure and try new things. We offer you a whole spectrum of new techniques, materials and points of view, so that you can make something beautiful and unique.
Courses
Drawing and Painting for Beginners and for (advanced/intermediate) adults Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 19.00 – 21.30, Wednesdays 10.00 – 12.30 and Fridays 10. 30 -13. 00 and 14.30 – 17.00. Rini Brakkee
Rini Brakkee is the owner of studio Groeten van Marc. She has been teaching art for some time to children and adults of different levels and interests. In 2006 she graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, department of Fine Art. Besides being a passionate teacher, she also works as an autonomous artist. Her work is regularly exhibited.
Lieselot Versteeg
Lieselot Versteeg is a visual artist and writer. She is currently enrolled in the masters program at the Sandberg Instituut and recently finished the RMa Artistic Research at the University of Amsterdam. She is interested in the stories that are made when bodies and materials transform. Teaching and facilitating creative processes of children are an important part of her practice. As a freelancer she teaches classes and workshops in a number of primary schools in Amsterdam.
Sharma Peterson
Sharma Peterson was born in California and worked as a professional artist since 1997. She taught drawing and painting for 12 years in heR studio in Amsterdam. She used to paint commissioned portraits in oil paint and her paintings are on view in the permanent collection of Het Joods Historisch Museum Amsterdam. In 2019 she graduated from the Wackers academy. Now she paints more and more abstractly, with intenser colours, playful textures and complex shapes. Sharma enjoys sharing her inspiration for painting and drawing with students.
Melany Mol
Melany Mol graduated from the HKU (art academy Utrecht) in 2016. In the years since, she continued to developed her skills as a teacher and artist, working in various museums and schools. This allows her to switch seamlessly between different levels and interests, stimulating everyone’s curiosity about art.
Selanna Holleman
Selanna Holleman finished her education as a teacher of art and design at the Breitner Academie in 2024. There she tried out various disciplines and taught students between 4 and 80 years old.
Her own work lies somewhere between autonomous painting and illustration. She also creates audiovisual works and digital animations.
As a teacher she strives to give students the right tools so they are able to get to make the art they want.
At Groeten van Marc Selanna teaches group art classes for beginners and advanced students.
Hanna Jongepier
Hanna Jongepier is a big fan of making art with children! During her classes she introduces the children to diverse materials and together they discover all kind of ways to use these materials. Paint, ink, and charcoal on paper or wood, clay, textile and wool, we will be working with all of these and more. Hanna likes to use diverse materials and techniques herself as well, and in her installation art people are invited to use all their senses. She was educated at Akademie Vogue in Amsterdam a.o. and is currently working for DONS creative childcare. At Groeten van Marc Hanna teaches children in the ages of 6 to 12 on Wednesday at 13:00 till 14:30 hr.
