Do you enjoy making big paintings? Or little comic books? Is building a ship out of cardboard your thing, or a castle from paper maché? Would you like to learn how to draw a realistic horse or a portrait? It’s all possible at Atelier Groeten van Marc. This art class has it all!
Every class the teacher gives you an assignment to teach you something about art history, a new technique, or to inspire you and guide your imagination. An example could be: paint your self portrait in two emotions, or: make a collage of different architectural styles. We will discover the characteristics of various materials like: charcoal, clay, printing- and indian ink, soft- and wax pastels, hot and cold glue, acrylic and watercolor paint, wood, cardboard….etc.
Every year before the Summer break we have an exhibition showing your works!
Teacher Rini Brakkee has a lot of experience in giving creative lessons to children. The most important thing is fun and self-confidence, then learning comes naturally. She is curious about every child and their ambitions. Rini teaches Mondays and Tuesdays
Lieselot Versteeg about her classes: “the KINDERKUNST ATELIER in Groeten van Marc there is room for creative adventure and experiment! These lessons are for children aged 6 to 10 and aim to guide kids in inventing and giving shape to new ideas, exploring their imagination and experiment with different creative techniques and tools.
We will draw and paint and try out all kinds of craft materials. Sometimes we look around us very precisely, then again we come up with all kinds of stories. Sometimes we go on an adventure, sometimes we dream away and sometimes we change the painting studio into a shop, a forest, a zoo or a doctor’s office.
As a teacher, I ensure a rich and safe learning environment and I provide the impetus for creative processes. Then I observe to see where extra challenge is needed or where a smaller framework will help to stimulate getting into a state of creative flow. At the end of each lesson we will playfully look at and discuss what was made during the lesson.”
Hanna Jongepier is a big fan of making art with children! During her classes she introduces the children to diverse materials and together they discover all kind of ways to use these materials. Paint, ink, and charcoal on paper or wood, clay, textile and wool, we will be working with all of these and more. Hanna likes to use diverse materials and techniques herself as well, and in her installation art people are invited to use all their senses. She was educated at Akademie Vogue in Amsterdam a.o. and is currently working for DONS creative childcare. At Groeten van Marc Hanna teaches children in the ages of 6 to 12 on Wednesday at 13:00 till 14:30 hr.
