Kary Slenders lives and works in Amsterdam.

For her works on paper she mainly uses charcoal, bister, ink and soft pastels. On canvas she also uses acrylics and oils. Kary Slenders is inpired by newspaper pictures, dancers and musicians, classical and ethnic music. Her life philosophy involves the vulnerable human life with it’s own indefinable beauty.

The last few years her focus has been on portraiture. Her portraits show people in all their intimacy and vulnerability.
