Drawing is more than simply making a drawing. Drawing is direct, drawing is personal, drawing is the beginning of visual expression, drawing is observing on paper, drawing is putting your signature on something, drawing is taking note. In recent years, drawing has more and more become an independent art form, in which a huge variety of materials and styles can be seen. We look at (contemporary) artists such as Toba Khedoori, Paul Klemann, Juul Kraijer, Cy Twombly and Raquel Maulwurf for new ideas.
What do you want to draw? What do you want to discover?
In this course we will draw to observe reality, and to practice with displaying reality; but we will also make drawings in which you can use your imagination, or investigate abstract composition. We will try out the diversity of possibilities of drawing. What alternative materials could you use to draw? Which topics would you like to examine in a drawing? Instructor Rini Brakkee has been drawing from a young age and would like to hear your ambitions and plans. Also if you want to start at the beginning and want to be inspired by new knowledge, examples and techniques: sign up for this course!
