This painting and drawing course offers space to create your own artworks. We also help you improve your technique, look at (your own) art in a different way, find inspiration, and enjoy the process. There is a large amount of materials available: pastel chalk, (color) pencils, eastern ink, watercolor paint, oil paint, acrylic paint, gouache, etc. From now on you want to paint a realistic landscape, to design a portrait of a postcard, it is possible. Three-dimensional work can also be arranged. In this course all actions of stop motion animations are made.
Both beginners and advanced students are welcome. If you are a beginner, it may be a task to learn to die and learn how to draw and paint. Even more advanced artists are sometimes without inspiration and the teacher can ask for an idea. Trying new techniques, materials and subjects is something that every student enjoys. Assignments can be: paint a portrait in two colors, draw a cloudy sky in pastel chalk, make a painting in the style of Monet, paint a still life with your non-dominant hand, make a composition with pieces of colored paper.
Many students continue to work on their own project, assisted where necessary by the teacher. Take a look and see what fellow students are doing, we inspire each other and encourage each other. Teacher Rini Brakkee graduated from the Rietveld Academy and has been obsessed with all forms of creative expression since childhood. She has worked in various media, including oil paint, charcoal drawings, (stop motion) animation, ceramics and three-dimensional installations. Looking at, and talking about art is her great passion.
